Before installing the SmsGateWay24 APK on your Android device, make sure you have the following:
The installation process takes about 5 minutes and does not require any technical expertise.
If you haven't already, go to smsgateway24.com and create a free account. Registration requires only your email address and a password. After verifying your email, you will have access to the dashboard where you can manage devices, view messages, and access the API.
The SmsGateWay24 Android app is not available on the Google Play Store — it is distributed as a direct APK download. This is because the app accesses SMS functionality at a system level that Play Store policies restrict.
To download the APK:
You can download the APK directly on your Android device using Chrome or any other browser.
Because the APK is not from the Play Store, Android requires you to explicitly allow installation of apps from unknown sources. The exact steps vary by Android version:
Tap the downloaded APK file. Android will show you the app's required permissions — the app needs access to SMS, phone, and notifications. Tap Install and wait for the installation to complete (usually 10–30 seconds).
After installation, tap Open to launch SmsGateWay24.
The first time you open the app, Android may ask you to grant SMS permissions. Tap Allow for all SMS-related permissions. Without these permissions, the app cannot send or receive SMS messages.
On some Android versions, you may also need to set SmsGateWay24 as the default SMS app temporarily to allow it to read incoming messages. The app will prompt you if this is required.
If Android blocks the installation with a security warning, ensure you have enabled installation from unknown sources as described in Step 3. If you see a "Blocked by Play Protect" message, tap Install Anyway — Play Protect warns about all apps not from the Play Store, regardless of their actual safety.
If the device appears offline after installation, check that the phone has an active internet connection. Also verify that Android's battery optimization is not killing the SmsGateWay24 background service. Go to Settings → Battery → App optimization and exclude SmsGateWay24 from optimization.
If the app cannot send SMS, go to Settings → Apps → SmsGateWay24 → Permissions and make sure SMS permissions are granted. On Android 12+, you may need to allow the "Send SMS" permission specifically.
When a new version of SmsGateWay24 is released, you will see an update notification in the app and in the web dashboard. Download the new APK from the same location and install it over the existing installation — your settings and account connection will be preserved automatically.
