We are excited to announce the release of SmsGateWay24 version 13.0.2 — a major update that brings new features, important stability improvements, and expanded platform support. This release represents one of our most significant updates and we recommend all users upgrade as soon as possible.
Starting with version 13.0.2, SmsGateWay24 now supports sending and receiving WhatsApp messages through your Android device. This is in addition to the existing SMS functionality. You can now manage WhatsApp conversations alongside SMS from the same dashboard, making SmsGateWay24 a true multi-channel messaging platform.
WhatsApp messages sent via SmsGateWay24 go through your device's WhatsApp account — no WhatsApp Business API fees required. This is ideal for businesses that communicate with customers primarily through WhatsApp.
The incoming message view has been redesigned with a cleaner, more organized chat-style interface. Conversations are now threaded by contact, making it easier to follow multi-message exchanges with customers. You can reply directly from the dashboard without switching to the mobile app.
Version 13.0.2 introduces a new bulk queue management interface. You can now see all pending messages, pause or cancel the queue, adjust priority, and reschedule failed messages — all from the web dashboard. This gives you much greater control over large sending campaigns.
The REST API has been extended with new endpoints:
The message processing pipeline has been rewritten to handle higher volumes more efficiently. In our tests, version 13.0.2 processes messages up to 40% faster than version 12.x, which reduces delays when sending large batches.
The background service has been optimized to use less CPU and RAM, resulting in noticeably lower battery drain on the Android device. This is especially important for devices that run the app 24/7.
Version 13.0.2 adds full compatibility with Android 14, including support for the new notification permissions system. If you are running Android 14, the app will correctly request all required permissions on first launch.
If you are upgrading from a version earlier than 12.0, please read the migration notes in the changelog. Some API parameters have been renamed for consistency. Legacy parameter names are still accepted in version 13.0.2 but will be deprecated in a future release.
